The ceremony was attended by Nguyen Van Tien, Deputy Director General of VDDMA, Melissa Anne Brown, U.S. Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City, Dao Thi Hong, Country Representative of CRS Viet Nam, along with officials from the U.S. Consulate General, VDDMA, and CRS. At the provincial level, Duong Mah Tiep, Vice Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People’s Committee, presided over the reception, joined by representatives of key provincial departments and agencies.
In response to severe disaster impacts, the U.S. Government approved an emergency recovery aid package valued at USD 1.25 million (approximately VND 32 billion) delivered through CRS Viet Nam for Quang Ngai, Gia Lai, and Dak Lak provinces. During the event, Consul General Brown, on behalf of the U.S. Government and people, symbolically handed over the aid to Deputy Director General Nguyen Van Tien, representing the aid-receiving agency. Gia Lai Province received an allocated support of VND 4.27 billion.
In his remarks, Deputy Director General Nguyen Van Tien extended sincere appreciation to the U.S. Government, the American people, and CRS Viet Nam for their timely and practical support, which has contributed to helping affected households overcome hardship and stabilize their lives following the disaster.


Immediately after the ceremony, the joint mission, accompanied by provincial leaders, visited Tuy Phuoc Dong Commune to provide encouragement to local residents and to conduct field inspections on the implementation progress of the disaster recovery aid.
