The Mekong River began flowing into Tonle Sap Lake last Wednesday (June 16, 2021) following the rising of the water level at Chaktomuk up to 2.76 meters. In the provinces of Kratie and Kampong Cham, the water level increased by nearly one meter per day. The reversal flows event is likely a normal situation for multi-year average when the month of June usually experiences the water flows back into the Tonle Sap.

According to Cambodia's Ministry of Meteorology and Water Resources (MOWRAM), the water level at Tonle Bassac Chaktomuk Hydrological Station in this rainy season 2021 could reach 9.30 meters.
