According to the Yen Bai Provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment, from the night of June 22 to the morning of June 23, heavy rain and thunderstorms caused landslides at several locations along transportation routes in communes of Yen Binh District.

As of 2:00 p.m. on June 23, flash floods had triggered landslides and waterlogging on roads in the communes of Cam An, Dai Dong, Phuc Ninh, Xuan Lai, Tan Nguyen, and Phuc An, with an estimated tens of thousands of cubic meters of soil and rock blocking travel routes and significantly impacting local residents. The estimated damage is approximately 1 billion VND.

In addition, flooding also affected several roads in Yen Bai City.

Immediately after receiving reports, the Yen Binh District Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue directed commune-level committees to promptly inspect and assess the damage, mobilize local forces to urgently clear debris, reopen roads for public travel, and ensure stable living conditions for affected communities.

At the same time, local authorities are continuing to monitor weather developments, ensure that duty shifts are maintained properly, and compile detailed damage reports to submit to higher-level People’s Committees and the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue in accordance with regulations.
