The water level of rivers rose very quickly in a short time, especially the downstream rivers in the southern part of the province (O Lau, Thach Han) at alert level 3, other rivers at alert level 1 and alert level 2, causing flooding of most of the summer-autumn rice crop and crops, aquatic products...; causing damage to irrigation works, dykes, traffic, riverbank landslides, flooding in low-lying areas, especially in the south of the province.
Storms and floods have caused great damage to life, property, and infrastructure of the State and people, especially in the agriculture production sector in the Summer-Autumn crop.
To promptly overcome the consequences of floods after storm No. 1, the People's Committee of Quang Tri province requested localities to mobilize maximum forces, means, and materials to drain water in deeply flooded areas, temporarily repair canals, dykes, and create favorable conditions for the rapid recovery of agricultural production.
Along with that, localities are assigned to review and inventory damage, clearly identify projects that need urgent investment, and at the same time propose timely and appropriate support plans to ensure social security for people in disaster areas.
The Department of Agriculture and Environment, as the standing agency for natural disaster prevention and control, is assigned to preside over and urge the implementation of response plans, provide technical guidance on seeds and fertilizers, effectively operate irrigation systems, and build urgent works to serve production and life.
The Department of Finance coordinates and allocates funds promptly to support localities in overcoming damage. The Department of Construction is responsible for reviewing and assessing the extent of damage to traffic works, proposing repair solutions, ensuring safety and traffic.
