On April 20, Forest Protection Department Of Ca Mau Province said that the entire forest stand of U Minh Ha Melaleuca forest covers an area of ​​about 43,000 hectares, of which more than 60% of the area has reached alarm level IV (dangerous level) and level V (extremely dangerous level). The area of fire alarm ​​level V is concentrated in the communes of Tran Hoi, Khanh Binh Tay Bac (Tran Van Thoi district) and Khanh Lam, Nguyen Phich (U Minh district) with about 8,000ha.

Facing the situation where the area of ​​extremely dangerous fire alarms could be increased, functional units, forest owners and people are focusing on forest fire prevention and fighting.

Mr. Le Thanh Dung, Deputy Director of U Minh Ha National Park, said: Currently part of the 8,500 ha of forest managed by the unit has reached level V fire alarm. The position has arranged a 24 hour duty at the fire checkpoints, bringing pumps to the area. In addition, patrol and control in key areas are carried out daily in order to promptly prevent objects entering the forest from illegal hunting
