Many residential areas were surrounded by water, with some areas flooded to a depth of 1.5m, affecting approximately 320 households.

On September 12th, the People's Committee of Phuoc Tan Ward announced that the heavy rain lasting for many hours on September 11th caused water from upstream to flow in rapidly, raising the water level of the Buong River. Water flooded many roads and residential areas, causing widespread localized flooding, posing a potential safety risk to residents and causing property damage.

The most severely affected area is part of Huong Phuoc neighborhood, including groups 9A, 9A1, 9A2, 9B, 9B1, 9C, group 10, and groups 17 and 18. The highest water level recorded was approximately 1.5m, affecting about 320 households. The extent of property damage cannot yet be determined, but no casualties have been reported.

Immediately after the flooding occurred, the Phuoc Tan Ward Civil Defense Command mobilized local forces and coordinated with other units to assist people in relocating their property and evacuating people from areas at risk.

Military personnel, police, neighborhood security guards, neighborhood management boards, and various organizations were also mobilized to be on duty at bridges over rivers and streams to warn and guide people to travel safely.

According to the People's Committee of Phuoc Tan ward, after the floodwaters recede, the local authorities will mobilize forces along with residents to clean up and disinfect houses and streets; at the same time, they will carry out disinfection of water wells and spray mosquito repellent to ensure environmental hygiene.

In the coming period, Phuoc Tan ward will continue to develop disaster response plans, implement the "four on-the-spot" principle, strengthen warnings to residents, and be ready to evacuate households in dangerous areas.

Local authorities also plan to set up a temporary evacuation point at Phuoc Tan 1 Secondary School for residents of Huong Phuoc neighborhood should necessary.
