In the face of the recent flooding in Central Vietnam, which took place on a large scale, causing great damage to people and property in our country, the Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN) had sent a letter to the General Secretary, President of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam Nguyen Phu Trong and affirmed the UN's readiness to provide humanitarian assistance to Vietnam. The UN organizations in Viet Nam have also carried out many activities to mobilize emergency resources for affected localities and people in Central Vietnam.

At the meeting, all parties shared information on recent flood damages, ongoing efforts to support people in the Central provinces, and at the same time proposed some medium and long-term recovery, especially  for vulnerable groups, and strengthening resilience to future disasters.

Responding to the call of the Central Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, as of early November 2020, members of the Disaster Risk Reduction Partnership, international agencies and organizations have supported more than USD 13.47 million for affected localities in the Central region.
