The Viet Nam Disaster and Dyke Management Authority, FAO in Vietnam in collaboration with the Standing Office of the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Quang Binh province organized the donation of 660 220-liter plastic barrels with open lids and iron buckles to 660 poor, near-poor and disadvantaged households in Vinh Lam commune - Vinh Linh district, Hai Hung commune - Hai Lang district, Cam Hieu commune - Cam Lo district, Gio Mai commune - Gio Linh district (Quang Tri province); Quang An commune - Quang Dien district, Phong Binh commune and Phong Hoa commune - Phong Dien district (Thua Thien Hue province).

The distribution of large plastic containers contributes to food security for hazardous households in flood-prone areas by enabling them to safely store food and essential items for use during typhoons and floods.
