Latest update on Storm No. 1

On the evening of June 14, after moving deep into inland southwestern Guangdong Province (China), Storm No. 1 weakened into a tropical depression.
Forecast: The tropical depression will continue northeastward into inland Guangdong, weakening and dissipating gradually, with no direct impact expected on Vietnam.

DAMAGE ASSESSMENT (as of 06:00, June 15, 2025)

• Human losses: 7 casualties (6 deaths: Quảng Bình 3, Quảng Trị 3; 1 missing in Quảng Bình due to floods).

• Housing: 47 houses damaged or collapsed (Hà Tĩnh 27, Quảng Trị 5, Huế 9, Quảng Nam 6).

• Agriculture: 58 701 ha of rice and crops flooded (Nghệ An 476 ha; Hà Tĩnh 630 ha; Quảng Bình 21 254 ha; Quảng Trị 25 110 ha; Huế 11 231 ha).

• Aquaculture: 2 260 ha damaged (Quảng Bình 1 553 ha; Quảng Trị 624 ha; Đà Nẵng 33 ha; Quảng Nam 49 ha); 178 fish cages lost (Quảng Bình 121; Quảng Trị 57).

• Boats: 8 vessels sunk or damaged (Quảng Bình 3; Đà Nẵng 5).

Heatwave forecast in Northern and Central Vietnam

On June 15, Northern Vietnam and the area from Thanh Hóa to Phú Yên will experience hot weather, with peak temperatures generally between 35–37 °C and locally exceeding 38 °C. Starting June 16, the heat in the north will ease, while Central Vietnam may continue to see high temperatures for several days.
