From November 9, 2024 - Within the framework of the project "Increasing capacities and scale for Anticipatory Action including through Social Protection systems" funded by the European Commission for Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection (DG ECHO) through the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Vietnam, the Viet Nam Disaster and Dyke Management Authority in collaboration with FAO in Vietnam coordinated to implement anticipatory action to support people to enhance their ability to respond and minimize the impact of typhoons and floods in the coming time in Quang Ngai province.​



The Viet Nam Disaster and Dyke Management Authority, FAO in Vietnam in collaboration with the Standing Office of the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Quang Binh province organized the donation of 569 220-liter plastic barrels with open lids and iron buckles to 569 poor, near-poor and disadvantaged households in in Binh Chanh, Binh Duong, Binh Minh communes - Binh Son district, and Hanh Tin Dong commune - Nghia Hanh district.

The distribution of large plastic containers contributes to food security for hazardous households in flood-prone areas by enabling them to safely store food and essential items for use during typhoons and floods.
