According to THX, the Indonesian Meteorological and Physical Authority announced that, on the morning of April 6, an earthquake of magnitude 6.1 rocked North North Maluku province, in the eastern part of the country.

The earthquake occurred at 1:37 pm on April 6, the epicenter was located at a depth of 10 km above sea level, 122 km northwest of Jailolo town, North Maluku province.

The agency said no tsunami warning was issued.

Aftershocks of this earthquake were felt in the nearby North Sulawesi province.
