Facing the serious impacts of natural disasters in the Central region, on October 13, 2020, the Chairman of the Central Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Xuan Cuong had issued a letter calls for support from the international community to help people in the Central region to overcome consequences of storms and floods. Responding to the call of the Central Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, Disaster Risk Reduction Partner members and international agencies have taken timely and practical actions to assist the people in Central Vietnam to deal with difficulties caused by natural disasters. The total amount of support and committed to support from international organizations is nearly USD 20 million.



As of 11 November 2020, there are a total of 45 international and national donors confirming their supports with total value of nearly USD 20 million. List of International organizations supported and committed to support flood affected people in Central Vietnam can be found HERE.

Through Viet Nam Disaster Management Authority, the ADB, AHA Center, Japanese Embassy(JICA), Korean Government, Taipei Economics and Culture Office and UNICEF has supported to the provinces of Thua Thien Hue, Quang Tri, Quang Ngai, Quang Binh, Ha Tinh with relief items, house repairing kits and cash with total value of about USD 3,6 million.
