I. WEATHER, HYDRAULIC SITUATION

  1. About the rain

- Rainy day (from 7PM on Nov, 15to 7PM on Nov, 16): The Northern Delta and Central Vietnam have moderate to heavy rain, some places with torrential, common rainfall from 30-60mm, some stations with heavy rainfall such as: Cua Cam (Hai Phong) 103mm, Xuan Thuy (Nam Dinh) 118mm, Da Coc (Thai Binh) 87mm, Thanh Hoa (Thanh Hoa) 116mm, Nga Thien (Thanh Hoa) 84mm, Na Ngoi (Nghe An) 78mm.

- Night rain (from 7PM on Nov, 16 to 6Am on Nov, 17): Most areas across the country witnessedshoweror cloudy.

Forecast: Day and night onNov, 17, some area willexperience showers and thunderstorms.

The water level of rivers in the North and Mid-Central regionsarenow below the warninglevel1.

 

II. RESERVOIRSSITUATION

  1. Irrigation reservoir

Reservoirs in the Central and Central Highlands regions: 06 reservoirs are discharging (Vuc Mau 47 m3/s, Song Sao discharging 25 m3/s (Nghe An); Ta Trach 114 m3/s (TT. Hue), Ea Soup Thuong discharge 5m3/s, Krong Buk discharge 15 m3/s, Buon Yong 5 m3/s (Dak Lak).).

  1. Hydropower reservoir

Central and Central Highlands regions: 38 reservoirs areoperating through the spillway.

 

III. DAMAGE BY THE STORM NO. 13

According to local reports, the statistic of damage caused by the storm No. 13 as of 5PM on November 16, 2020, is as follows:

  1. About people

24 people were injured, mainly while preparing to protect house from the storm, pruning trees against storms (Quang Binh: 11, Quang Tri: 09, Da Nang: 01; Quang Nam: 03).

  1. About housing

07 houses collapsed (which are temporary houses, auxiliary works (Quang Ngai: 01, T.T.Hue: 06)); 7,526 houses were damaged, roofed-off (Ha Tinh: 06, Quang Binh: 1,886, Quang Tri: 925, TTHTe: 4,687 (mainly roof sheds, currently the province is checking and classifying), Da Nang: 22).

  1. About education, cultural houses:

41 schools have broken roof (Quang Binh: 15; Quang Tri: 26); 12 cultural houses were blown away (Quang Binh: 10; Quang Ngai: 02).

  1. About boats/ships:

27 boats were sunk, damaged at the anchorage (Quang Binh: 13, Quang Tri: 01, T.T.Hue: 11, Da Nang: 02).

  1. About the embankment and dike:

1,140m of the embankment continued to be eroded (Quang Binh: 1,040m; Quang Tri: 100m); 1,000m of sea dyke was eroded (Quang Tri); 38.95 km of river bank, coast continued to be eroded (Quang Tri: 13.3 km, T.T.Hue: 25.65 km).

 

IV. NEXT STEPS

  1. Mobilizing forces to support people in repairing houses, cleaning up the environment, stabilizing their lives; school repair; troubleshooting of dykes and embankments.
  2. Checking and reviewing to ensure the safety of reservoirs, especially critical reservoirs which are full of water./.
